Vestibular Rehabilitation

Depending on your functional state of vestibular system, we utilize appropriate vestibular function to rehabilitate your balance and posture. If you have vertigo or dizziness, our examination helps us understand the cause, central or peripheral disorders. We perform appropriate procedures depending on the cause and help you restore vestibular function.

Schneider, A. D., Cullen, K. E., & Chacron, M. J. (2011). In vivo conditions induce faithful encoding of stimuli by reducing nonlinear synchronization in vestibular sensory neurons. PLoS Computational Biology, 7(7). http://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pcbi.1002120

Vestibular system is a sensory system that detects spatial orientation, head movements and sense of balance to coordinate head, eyes and body movements. It is a vital system to maintain the balance and posture.

Vestibular system detects head movement and send information to brain and the input information is integrated in the brain.

Therefore, it is important to assess and your vestibular system and restore your vestibular functions.

Head movements and canal stimulation could be a powerful stimulation to your brain. Therefore, they can be used therapeutically to rehabilitate your brain's functions. It is important to know which directions should head be moved and where eyes should be focused on. By assessing your eyes position and movements in relation to head, we can find out about vestibular functions and what is needed.

Functional Neurological Rehabilitation

Our rehabilitation is based on clinical neuroscience and it influences brain and neurological functions. Rehabilitation plan is created individually.
